I've been trying to figure out...I have no idea. I've been trying to figure out where that photo was taken since I first saw it. The railroad itself did not go into town. It's just north of town. There was a tunnel that went under 66, the tracks then went through where the industrial park is, behind the Twin Valley greenhouses and crossed Athena Drive where Lauffer Mine Road is. The bridge abutments are still there. After that it went where the trail is now to Slickville and finally ended at Saltsburg.

You can check this out. It shows the route of the railway.

ftp://ftp.dot.state.pa.us/public/pdf/BPR_PDF_FILES/MAPS/Type_10_GHS_Historical_Scans/Westmoreland_1941_Sheet_2.pdfCoke Oven Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00793208285590253080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7048678732955919447.post-83273584979976002762014-04-06T07:31:12.038-04:002014-04-06T07:31:12.038-04:00I noticed the train in the Ode to Delmont but was ...I noticed the train in the Ode to Delmont but was confused where the railroad was.
